Welcome to our new players! We look forward to getting to know you! You will hear from a league representative or team captain by the end of the week.
Thank you to those that attended our meeting this week to discuss the direction of the league moving forward. The following items were approved at the meeting and will be effective for the upcoming registration now open on our website at www.nutmegwomen.com. Please keep in mind that if you have never registered to play you will be required to register in the General Enrollment first.
1)We will have two leagues during the Fall/Spring Season an Over 23 and Over 37.
2)The Over 23 League will operate as the Over 26 did in the past; however, there will not be a limit of younger players. In addition, the goalkeeper must meet the age requirement. You qualify to participate as long as you turn 24 by 7/1 of the following year. So, a 23 year old can play as long as you turn 24 before 7/1 of the following year.
3)The Over 37 League will remain as the Over 40 did other than allowing for a younger player to participate. You can play at 37 as long as you are turning 38 before 7/1 of the following year. Goalies can be 35 but must be turning 36 prior to 7/1 of the following year. Players have first choice to play on and register for the teams they played with last season. New players will be placed on teams based on the needs of the club and to keep teams as balanced as possible.
We also approved an advertising budget and will be reaching out to women in our geographical area to bring in numbers. We will be asking for all of your support to help spread the word about our league soon. When we have interested player’s let’s do all we can to get them on teams!
There have been some changes to The Laws of the Game that will start this Fall Please click here to review. It is a long document but I strongly suggest you read through it, especially the team managers, coaches and captains.
Thank you to Jeanne Plyler for offering to manage our Facebook page and to Marsha Langer and Alissa Balouskus for their continued support of our Over 37 League! Finally, last but NOT least our NWSL Board Members, Sandra Hampson, Lori Cooke-Marra, BJ Romano and Connie Dining. I can't thank you enough for all you do to support our league.
If you have any questions, please email me and as always thank you so much for your continued support!
The company that provided our Over 40 Jersey's has offered to put together some spiritwear with our NWSL Logo for the league. They did a great job on our jersey's and I actually had him do a sweatshirt for me. If you are interested the link is here http://assn.la/UserForm.asp?RegID=114209&org=Nutmegwomen.com. We do not get any benefit from it as a club it's just an alternative if you are interested. If you lose the link there is a form on our site under association that says Spiritwear.
All players must pay into the league insurance pool, regardless of their insurance situation. Please make sure the referee logs the injury in the game report as well. If a claim is necessary, here are the steps to take:
Player fills out form following all instructions indicated and providing documents required to NWSL.
Player then sends to Captain for signing/approval.
The captain sends it to the league president to verify that the injury is reported in the official USSF match report (ref’s report). If needed, league can ask its assignor or the referee directly to amend the report to include injury (file a supplemental report).
President of League completes the form and handles the claim from there.
The Insurance Certificate Request form can be found in the "Documents" section of the NWSL website. Any team currently registered and in good standing with the Nutmeg Women's Soccer League may request proof of insurance, by completing and sending in the form to CSSA.
