The Nutmeg Women's Soccer U23 summer league is a great opportunity for players looking to play in college next year or players returning for college to get some quality games over the summer. Registration Fee $150/player and includes a T-Shirt, Insurance, Field costs and Referee Fees (3 man system). League runs through June & July and games are Sunday mornings @ Albertus Magnus College. Over-26 League playing 11 v 11 games on full-sized fields on Sunday afternoons during the Spring and Fall. Each team may not have more than 5 players rostered under 30 prior to 12/31. Registration cost includes insurance only and teams are formed by the captains with assistance of the league. The captain will collect money for the cost of uniforms and referee fees. Registration is for the Fall 2015 & Spring 2016.

NWSL Registration 08/24/2015 Good Evening NWSL Ladies!
The Over 40 rosters have been completed...
The Over 40 rosters have been completed and the majority of our Over 26 players have been placed. If BJ has requested proof of age and you did not supply her with a copy of your drivers license please ensure you do so ASAP to be added to the team roster.
We still need some players for both leagues so please register ASAP.
The team captains and Board Members will be meeting on Tuesday, August 18th to finalize the Over 40 rosters and determine the teams for the Over 26 League. If you are not registered by that date we can not guarantee the team you intend to play with will still be an option.
As it stands we have enough players for three Over 40 teams and are hoping to have enough women register to complete a fourth! The Over 26 has two teams; Hamden and Guilford that look good but the remaining have few players registered. Captains - your players MUST be registered before our meeting on Tuesday night.

Our league is going through exciting changes! We are opening up the over 30 division to allow five players between 26 and 30 on each team roster and creating a formal over 40 league. But, we need your help to make it work. If every member posts the flyer to their social media page, reaches out to their local newspaper, posts them in their community and is committed to make the league a success - we will. There is nothing more inspiring than being part of a group of women on a mission. I started playing in this league ten years ago because I needed something for me. Not only did I feel better about myself but I became part of a family. Let's ensure that this opportunity is available for future NWSL members.

Just to clarify a couple of things regarding Over 26 vs. Over 40.
1) Any new players to the league are registering and selecting new to the league. The board will then help place them based on numbers.
2) The Over 26 League will still have captains collecting money for referee fees and uniforms if necessary.
3) The Over 40 League is starting with three field selections with hopes of three viable teams. We will do our best to keep teams together. Just understand a couple of things; we don't want competition to be lopsided that will be no fun for anyone and we need to fill three team rosters. So, it may be necessary to move people around prior to finalizing rosters.
4) The Over 40 League cost includes the cost of referees and a jersey.
5) If we have enough women register for Over 40 to accommodate more than three teams we will add additional field locations.

Our registration for the upcoming season is NOW open! As you know we have two important changes this season that include lowering the over 30 age bracket to over 26 and the official start of our over 40 league. So, it is tremendously important that you register early so we can ensure that we are organized.

The Over 26 League plays 11 v 11 games on full-sized fields on Sunday afternoons during the Spring and Fall. Each team may not have more than 5 players rostered under 30 prior to 12/31. Since this is the first season we are rolling out the Over 40 League and reducing the age in our Over 30 Division it may be necessary to consolidate teams. You are registering understanding that.
The Over 40 League will be playing in Milford, Hamden and Wallingford on Sunday afternoons. Placement on a team will be determined by your proximity to field; however, we will do our best to keep teams moving up from the Over 30 League together. We will be playing 11v11 and rostering approximately 17 players per team. Since this is the first season with our transition please be flexible and help us to make it a success. The cost of registration includes an NWSL jerseys and referee fees.
Placement on a team roster remains at the discretion of the league.
Although I do not have official minutes of the meeting I wanted to share the results of our discussion regarding our divisions.
Beginning in the Fall of 2015 we are opening up the younger division to be O26 and our O40 League will be a true league that will play on Sunday afternoons. We added a provision in the O26 League that there can not be more than five women ages 26-29 per team. As I am sure you know once women leave the O30 to participate in the O40 League our numbers for the O26 teams will be smaller. So, it is important that we start getting the word out now on the changes to our league.
The Over 40 League will run different than the O26 League with centralized fields and one player registration with the League setting up the teams based on location and other factors such as overall makeup of the players. We don't have all the details yet determined but will be working on the process over the next couple of months.

I know there will be questions and I will field them the best I can; however, this is work in progress and we firmly believe that it will help our League grow.

All players must pay into the league insurance pool, regardless of their insurance situation. Please make sure the referee logs the injury in the game report as well. If a claim is necessary, here are the steps to take:
Player fills out form following all instructions indicated and providing documents required to NWSL.
Player then sends to Captain for signing/approval.
The captain sends it to the league president to verify that the injury is reported in the official USSF match report (ref’s report). If needed, league can ask its assignor or the referee directly to amend the report to include injury (file a supplemental report).
President of League completes the form and handles the claim from there.
The Insurance Certificate Request form can be found in the "Documents" section of the NWSL website. Any team currently registered and in good standing with the Nutmeg Women's Soccer League may request proof of insurance, by completing and sending in the form to CSSA.
