Annual NWSL Meeting - January 24, 2019

Good Afternoon NWSL Ladies!

The Annual NWSL Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Peoples United Bank 1636 Boston Post Rd, Milford CT at 7:00PM.  All members are welcome and representation from each team is encouraged.

The agenda of the Annual General meeting shall include:

· Roll Call

· Minutes of Previous Annual General Meeting

· President's Address

· Officers' Reports

· Treasurer's Report and annual budget

· Other Reports

· Unfinished Business

· Amendments to the By-Laws and League Rules

· Election of Officers and Directors

· Any Other Business

· Adjournment

The positions up for election this year are Vice President and Treasurer.  In addition, the President position is available.  Although it is not an election year I am no longer able to participate due to an injury.  The club bylaws state that all officers need to be a member of the league.  I do not intend to participate in the future.  Therefore, it will be necessary to appoint a new President.

Please respond to this email with any interest in the President, Vice President and/or Treasurer positions.  Also, any items you would like added to the agenda.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

For the Good of Soccer,

Jennifer Lynch

NWSL President

2018 NWSL Survey Responses

NWSL presently has two age groups; Over 18 and Over 38. This Fall we will be combining the two groups and play with 8 teams due to limited numbers in the Over 18 League. For us to determine the best direction of the club going forward we would like your feedback. Would you be in favor of eliminating the age brackets and offering an A and B Division? Our expectation is that the A Division would be a higher level of play with skilled players and more fast-paced than the B Division. We would still have an age limit of 18 to participate. Please select YES below if you would like to see the structure changed to an A and B Division and NO if you would like the brackets to remain as is.

Yes - A/B Division
No - Remain as over 18 and over 38
Total Respondents: 71

In an effort to grow the league we have discussed the benefit of holding our games at a central location. This could be in a location such as New Haven and be an hour drive to participate based on where our current players reside. Our hope is that this would increase participation and consistency. Please indicate YES below if you would like us to explore this further and NO if you do not.

NWSL Spiritwear

Good Afternoon NWSL Ladies,

The company that provided our Over 40 Jersey's has offered to put together some spiritwear with our NWSL Logo for the league.  They did a great job on our jersey's and I actually had him do a sweatshirt for me.  If you are interested the link is here  We do not get any benefit from it as a club it's just an alternative if you are interested.  If you lose the link there is a form on our site under association that says Spiritwear.

Thank you!

Insurance Claims Process

Insurance Claim Process

All players must pay into the league insurance pool, regardless of their insurance situation.  Please make sure the referee logs the injury in the game report as well. If a claim is necessary, here are the steps to take:

Player downloads the claim form from CSSA website only.

Player fills out form following all instructions indicated and providing documents required to NWSL.

Player then sends to Captain for signing/approval.

The captain sends it to the league president to verify that the injury is reported in the official USSF match report (ref’s report). If needed, league can ask its assignor or the referee directly to amend the report to include injury (file a supplemental report).

President of League completes the form and handles the claim from there.

Request for Insurance Certificate

The Insurance Certificate Request form can be found in the "Documents" section of the NWSL website.  Any team currently registered and in good standing with the Nutmeg Women's Soccer League may request proof of insurance, by completing and sending in the form to CSSA.
